The IT Department Manager (Architecture) will have accountability and oversight of all aspects of Enterprise Architecture including development of strategies, governing principles, implementation and ongoing evaluation.
Major Responsibilities:
•Lead the creation or evolution of the enterprise architecture function/program/processes.
•Lead and facilitate the creation of governing principles to guide EA decision making.
•Capture the current "As Is" state of the IT Architecture.
•Identify and analyze enterprise business drivers to derive useful business context and architectural requirements.
•Perform analysis of the technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on the enterprise architecture.
•Oversee the evaluation and selection of EA standards.
•Develop the "To Be" state of the IT Architecture working closely with all stakeholders.
•Lead the development and ongoing refinement of an implementation plan for the enterprise architecture based on business requirements and IT strategies.
•Oversee EA implementation and ongoing refinement activities.
•Consult with project teams to fit projects to enterprise architecture, as well as to identify when it is necessary to modify the enterprise architecture to accommodate project needs.
•Consult with infrastructure development project teams to fit infrastructure to architecture, as well as to identify when it is necessary to modify the technical architecture to accommodate infrastructure needs.
•Promote the EA process, outcomes and results to the organization, including the enterprise's IT and business leaders.
•Ensure that the optimal governance structure and compliance activities for EA compliance are in place.
•Oversee the documentation of all architecture design and analysis work.
•Lead the development and execution of a communication and education plan for the enterprise architecture.
•Assess and communicate the value of the enterprise architecture.
•Adopt and promote the Bruce Power values, demonstrating leadership in behaviours that support these values.
•Foster teamwork and a stimulating work environment.
•Provide support to the Vice President, IT and Training in managing the division in accordance with applicable legislation, policies, programs, procedures and agreements.
•Maintain up-to-date department documentation which lays down procedures for ensuring that correct and safe practices are followed.
•Ensure that all staff in their areas of responsibility are appropriately trained for the tasks delegated to them and have appropriate qualifications and authorization.
•Ensure that all staff have a training plan and are familiar with Company and divisional business plans and safety rules.
•Provide day-to-day coordination across departments.
•Ensure value for money and achievement of the department’s business plan.
Candidate Qualifications
Education:
•A university degree or equivalent experience
