SCOPE:

We are recruiting for an Administrative Director over the Department of Surgery as well as, the Department of Primary Care.

The purpose of this position is to direct the business and clinical operations of multiple site offices for a large Medical Group. Primary areas of focus included: operational oversight; financial management and strategic business planning, which includes implementation of standards and strategic initiatives developed by the Medical Group; development and monitoring of budgets for all assigned office sites.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational-

  • Hiring, orientation and on-going development of practice managers
  • Overseeing practice managers in hiring and development of office staff; meeting HR requirements for process and established standards of performance.
  • Provide a mechanism for continuous information flow to the practices and physicians related to corporate administration, strategic and operational issues.
  • Collaborate with physicians in assigned office sites to provide support services important to physician and patient satisfaction; enforce customer service standards.
  • Regularly monitor and report key practice operation statistics.
  • Implement and monitor Quality Improvement, outcomes and risk management programs.
  • Facilitate physician and staff interfaces.
  • Support and coordinate facility moves and improvements.
  • Assure compliance with JCAHO requirements and recommendations of JCAHO operating committees.

Financial-

  • Assures compliance with financial goals through development of practice budgets, routine monitoring of results and analysis of variances.
  • Monitor practice financial performance and report key financial indicators on a monthly basis.
  • Complete financial feasibility analysis of proposed practice activities and business ventures.
  • Direct the operational administration of managed care contracts assuring correct data flow, compensation and education of physician and support staff.

Strategic Planning-

  • Collaborate with the executive team to support strategic, operational and business planning.
  • Facilitate development of long range and short term strategic plans.
  • Interact with hospital leadership to coordinate continuum of care and program and service development issues.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors Degree Required; Masters Preferred

3-5 years experience managing a physician group practice(s)

7+ years management

Developing and managing practice budgets

Developing financial pro formas

SKILLS:

Excellent project management skills, including the ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative in identifying solutions to problems; ability to work effectively and productively as a member of a team of diverse individuals including physicians, administrators, superiors and subordinates; must demonstrate professionalism, flexibility and ownership of assigned responsibilities; must have strong communication skills.
