SCOPE ANDRESPONSIBILITIES: - Produce and deliver products that meet or exceed customer needs within budgetary constraints
- Champion, lead and oversee the Quality activitie
- Initiate improvements in the plant and business to improve quality, customer satisfaction and reduce cost.
- Supervise 4 to 6 direct and indirect reports (exempt and/or non-exempt)
- Meet customer needs by working with Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Technical Service Group, Purchasing and Operations to solve customer problems, analyze competitors and vendor products and capabilities, and run laboratory and production trials.
- Resolve problems; minimize loss, downtime, and inconsistencies by monitoring lab quality assurance test results, feedback from production, and quality control.
- Improve the quality assurance system by directing and coordinating the activities of the Operation Quality Assurance Plan in accordance with the current ISO 9002 Standard. Act as ISO Management representative for Plant.
- Increase testing efficiency and accuracy, improve product quality, and reduce costs by proposing and aiding in the introduction and promotion of experimental technologies.
- Use technical knowledge and expertise to expand current testing capabilities by utilizing automation techniques to increase efficiency and reduce laboratory costs.
- Increase learning and improve motivation through participatory management with training and cross-training employees, development opportunities and coaching.
- Ensure environmental and personal safety of employees and surrounding community by monitoring and reporting process and potable water systems in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 5-10 years of operations and quality experience.
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification with at least three major projects and documented cost savings of each.
- Training in a technical field, including chemistry, engineering or mathematics
- Demonstrated, practical experience in using and facilitating Continuous Improvement Tools [Six-Sigma, Lean, Kepner-Tregoe, etc.]
- Experienced Quality Auditor, Quality Manager and Management Representative. [ASQ certification or comparable experience preferred.]
- Quantifiable success in achieving success through Teamwork and leadership
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree preferred ~CB~
